    Hollywood/West Hollywood Apt Pool/Social Scene

Moving to LA and trying to decide where to live in Hollywood/West Hollywood, most likely.

Looking for info on what apt complexes are known for HBs and good pool/social scene. Plan on renting an apartment, cost not a big issue.

Any advice on potential locales appreciated.

If you're still looking, I'd suggest the Silverlake/Echo Park area.
Lots of bars, lots of 20- and 30-somethings out and about every night of the week.

The best pool scene is the Pacific Ocean. Venice, Santa Monica, the Beach Cities are all prime stomping grounds. People keep to themselves in LA and the only time you'll meet your neighbors is after an earthquake. Seriously. Best to sarge outside of your apartment complex.

West Hollywood is boys town, as beautiful and as well kept as it is. Great bars. but not that great if you're after the ladies.

Hollywood is just weird. Trannyville and lots of runaways and transients. Some good bars, but not worth the grief you'll have to put up with the rest of the week.

Los Feliz is pretty trendy. Just east of Hollywood

Silverlake is Bohemian heaven and a cool neighborhood

Beverly Hills is nice and you can walk everywhere. Lots of great bars, but the late night scene is lacking

The Miracle Mile (just south of Hollywood) has beautiful old apartments with high beam ceilings, hardwood floors and almost non existent parking.

    The neighborhood looks like this

Manhattan Beach is crawling with the honies. Weekends at the bars are fantastic. And everything is within walking distance.
