    Friday Daytime Sarge in Pasadena

    Team,

Mr. Platinum and I are planning to do some daytime work tomorrow, starting with Paseo Colorado in Pasadena (use google maps and it will come right up). Meet at the big round fountain by all the tables with the umbrellas at 4:00pm. You'll know it when you see it- I believe it's at the end of Garfield Street, where Garfield runs into the plaza area.

If Paseo's dry, it's only a few blocks west to Old Town, and that has a Barnes and Nobles, Pinkberry, that kind of shit. We can grab a bite to eat at some point.

If anyone wants to come, shoot me a text or give me a call so I know who to expect.

    Here's the club..

Tonight is Asian night though, I'd prefer an everybody-night, but oh well, still some hot girls there I bet. I'm probably going to go to the circle bar in Santa Monica.

Anyone been to the W Hotel lately, is that place good?

I'd be down for a daytime surge for part of Sunday afternoon, but with 85 degree weather at the beaches this weekend, I don't think I'll be able to resist Hermosa and Huntington beach. Anyone here ever do a David-D-Ninja-roll to a girl assisted with a one handed catch of a flying beer / pop on the beach.

    Bookshelf

I'd like to know a little more about the guys posting on this board. Those that want to share, why don't you post what you've been reading lately and what's been interesting to you.

    Right now I'm reading:

The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle
Intro to NLP - Steve Andreas and Charles Faulkner
The Art of Speed Reading People - Paul and Barbara Tieger
Plus a couple other non-game related books - The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand and Last Poems by William Matthews.

As you can see, these are pretty much the forum staples; guys are recommending these books left and right, and for good reason. Those first three have been really helpful to me, particularly in identifying my own motivations, understanding my decision-making process, and dealing with negative emotions. I've been able to reduce my overall stress and anxiety levels based on what I've been learning from NLP and Tolle, and that's something I'm f***ing thrilled about, because in the past I have been deeply affected by those reactions.

By no means am I a pro, but I've come to realize that I currently have 2 sarging options: solo or hook up with guys on here. The people I know are just not up to the task, if you know what I mean.

But heres my concern: I've just started and have a lot of work to do. Though I feel I could learn a lot from sarging with others, I feel theres a chance I may be somewhat of a burden up till I got my game solid.

Do people like me usually join the LA sarges?

    Cohiba,

Short answer: Yes. Beginners are invited to and do participate in LA sarges.

Longer answer: The guys reading on this board are, by definition, learning and developing, just like you are. Many of us, like myself, are the earlier stages of the game. If you're making plans to wing someone, just let them know your general skill level and what your sticking points are so that you guys can work and learn together effectively.

The main thing I look for in a wing is positivity. If you're fun and you sarge with a good attitude and a desire to learn, you and your wing will have a good time and probably get some results you'll be proud of. Like most hobbies or activities, Game has an intense learning curve in the beginning. Those first trips out you will learn a ton and can make a lot of headway. So the point is, don't be self-conscious about your skill-level: make connections, get in the game, and build yourself and others up.

    Abandon,

Thank you for the thorough response. I didn't want to be rude and invite myself along with out having more of a general understanding.

just curious as to where some good clubs/bars/night spots are around the area.
