Here's an interesting tip from a natural friend of mine. He does NOT own a couch. His family keeps trying to buy him a sofa; he declines. When he brings girls home, he doesn't want them to sit anywhere comfortably EXCEPT on his bed.
You didn't hear this from me.
But this interferes with the C3-S1 logistic of moving from the living room to the bedroom for example. Do what you want.

You can actually buy stripper poles online. They have a ceiling-attachment system so you can install the pole and remove it at will. When the pole is gone, the hole in the ceiling is replaced by a hanging hook so you can hang plants off it. Discreet.
You also didn't hear this from me.

If I were single, I'd buy a studio condo and buy one of those round beds/sofas from Ikea. That and a disco ball.

Put the Fight Club poster in your bathroom.
The living room and bedroom should have art on the walls. Specifically, the art should semi-coordinate; each room should have a range of colors present in all the pieces, as well as on accent pillows and candles. Your bedroom should have a completely different set of colors from the living room. Coordinate the art on your walls with the conversation pieces on your tables. The lighting should accent everything.
IKEA has great coordinated art for a cheap price. Right now they have color-coordinated, but not exactly matching sets of different sized frames and prints. Good way to go, if you aren't into shopping forever for the perfect piece and like the low prices. Also, Target has a lot of good artsy looking stuff, but it's more expensive than IKEA.
I suggest neutral tones in the living room, and warm, sexy tones in the bedroom. DO NOT use animal print anywhere in your house. Don't be afraid to use brighter colors too, yellows, blues, orange. Think of it like your clothing.
    My house:
Living room: greens, cool blues, off-whites, dark wood, black iron. varied textures between the couch and pillows. A few coordinated candles and some great japanese art that fits the color scheme. Two scupltures. Italian, French, and Spanish language magazines, from my trip to Europe, scattered across my coffee table. Bright-leafed tree and plants.
Bedroom: Spring/Summer: taupe, tan, navy, putty, black iron. Fall/Winter: taupe, blood red, tan putty, black iron. Matching candles and art for both seasons. Books in hard-cover, paper covers removed. Wine rack. Small, dark-leafed plants. Bowl with beach rocks. Framed pictures of my friends and family.
Bathroom: Matching towels, two colors. Muhammad Ali Poster, Framed.
Hope that gives you some ideas.
    Cheers,
    Rain

Dont think like a guy....think like a woman...and then ad a mans touch....
for example...coffee table books is usually a chicks idea...so get masculine books for coffee tables because a cook book would seem fake wont it!!!
mavericks idea on plants is GOLD...
abstract art is also a classic.

I installed this huge projection screen that drops down from the ceiling.
The picture on the box that it came with looked really cool so i bought it.
After using it for the first time it dropped down really smooth which made me feel proud of my ability to follow an instruction manual.
The feeling, however, changed as soon as i realized that it would not stop falling and smashed into my bedroom floor
And to top things off the plastic plant that i bought died as well ??
    Damn u wal-mart!

I'm thinking of buying some nice looking jars and filling them with sands from beachs around the world. This will hopefully show style, culture and that I am a creative person who traveles alot.
