Going back to university in my 30's

I'm planning to go back to university. I'll be there full-time as a day student so as to really focus on school. Long story short, it's time to make a career change. Plus, I'd love to get the education I didn't have a chance to get in the past.

I'd go back even if a crystal ball told me I wouldn't pull a single university HB the whole time I was there. But obviously, that's not my preferred outcome. I'd also love to pull as many HB's as possible. Who wouldn't?

The potential problem is that I'm in my early 30's. I don't look it. In fact, people who see me on campuses often mistake me for a student. I relate reasonably well to any age group, including current undergrads. Still, it is what it is.

Now, I've read several reports on this forum from guys in their 30's and beyond who have consistently pulled from college and university campuses. But is it different if you actually attend the school you're trying to pull from? Is this likely to be successful? What adjustments to game are necessary in this scenario? (I realize there's a Social Circle element when at universities you actually go to.)

On a related note, is it a DLV to be in university at that age? Or is it a DHV that you're trying to improve your life?

FWIW, of the universities I'm considering at this time:

All have a student population in the high four figures to multiple five figures. Hopefully this is big enough to break into new social circles if the old ones get blown up.

Students at any of them tend to be liberal and open-minded. One in particular has many creative types. Hopefully, people like this are less likely to care about age differences

Most have a 60:40 girl:guy ratio, mas o menos. I didn't even select for this - the schools that make sense for me just happen to be this way. (Nowadays, this ratio is actually normal except at schools that are really into science, engineering, etc.)

Most are in major cities. At any of these, there are other universities in town.

    Thanks in advance!

You experience will be what you make of it. It's all in your mind. Very few of the women in college are looking for a husband at that point in their life. They are looking for life experiences. This plays heavily in your advantage. Since your not looking to marry a 18-20 yr old and they aren't looking for a husband, You will have many, many fun encounters. The key is to be fun and exciting.

Right on 0210 for going back to school.. I've found the school work is actually easier as your cognitive capacity naturally increases as you mature. He'll I'm getting my M.B.A. right now but I might stick around another 2+ years to get my Masters in Public Policy on top of that just because I enjoy the environment.. Being 30+ there are also some creative ways to get financial aid - grants.

Now let me answer some of these questions as to how I relate to them personally being in this situation.. First I live in a pretty big metro area (which is needed if you want to run some serious numbers), and there are like 3 universities including my own and about 7-8 of my favorite havens (community colleges).. So at my University I don't really have to bust completely loose, I can just game the chicks I'm really into and save the outright reckless behavior for all the other schools and nightlife.. But if you still want to dog it up at your University - hell it's your world go for it..

Now the other points about how people will react to you, how chicks will react to you, and is it DLV to be going to school at this age can all be answered singularly.. Strongest state wins.. It depends on your self-image and the outer world is just a manifestation.. There can be 30 year olds there thinking "I'm so old, I couldn't even look at one of these young ladies, everyone disrespects me" and thats what their going to get.. Obviously thats opposite my approach.. I feel as if I'm the King and I'm entitled.. Hell, I can bring a lawn chair with me, which is how much I lounge in that atmosphere.. All the young cats pay respect to me and I take my shot at any young chick I want.. So you see it's all in the mind, regardless of age.. the fact of it being DLV or how will chicks react are subjective notions and it fully depends on your state. Structure that self-image positively (study hypnosis and modify behavior) and live life to the optimum and how you see fit..

On a side note.. For much of the same reason as your thinking of going back to University I'm thinking of doing some studying internationally, in like Australia, Hungary or Sweden.. Just to see if the game is still the same.

Could one of those experiences be finding out what older guys are like?

This is still no problem for me.

I'm thinking about this approach too - lower-risk but you still have the numbers from other colleges in the area. Does this mean it's really important to be in a major city to have the numbers?

Yes, I'm trying to work on projecting a strong state.

I like your attitude... Where can one learn more about hypnosis for behavior modification?

Good for you, new2town! Those countries sound like fun. One place to check out is McGill University in Montréal. Montréal is different - it feels more like Europe than North America. There are HB10's everywhere. But classes in McGill are taught in English.

If I can afford it...it's not clear yet that I can. At least in the US, anyone can borrow from the government. (ETA: Specifically for university, that is.) But it's not really enough to go back. And finding enough work to plug the gap will be tricky in this economy.

    Update

Just visited some of the universities I'm thinking about going to this weekend. One school is more affordable than the others while still being very good. Thing is, it's not in a major city. But at least it has over 10K students. Is being in a major city totally mandatory if the school itself is big?

Also, are you totally sure being this much older is going to be a non-issue with most undergrad HB's? I sarged tonight on the bar strip near the campus and #closed and Kclosed an HB8. She asked how old I was...it's unlikely she's the last undergrad HB who will.

10k, thats a pretty small University, that's like the size of an average juco, is this technical training? My University has 25 k and sometimes I feel the need to observe myself a bit there.. Wherever you feel comfortable with, although to me it's like fishing, you want to go to the area of the river most densely populated with fish.. One of the guys in the "community" whose material I have read it Paul Janka.. He runs numbers like few guys I have seen (178+ last time I checked).. One of the reasons he's allowed to just churn through these chicks is he lives in Manhattan with a huge turnover/refreshing population, and he can just spread out his wings and approach daily without anyone picking up his shtick.

About your close.. One of the greatest lines I have ever heard in this game is from Badboy. One one of his cd's he said that "girls are just a mirror of you".. Meaning if you have any psychological reservations about anything, be it your age, race, weight, the girl will latch on to that indecisveness as well.. You need to get rid of any reservations about that, and do that by restructuring your self image and psychologically creating a healthy future for yourself where your hitting what you want and those girls want to be a part of it (hypnosis is the greatest tool for self-improvement.. get rid of your limiting mentality which becomes future reality, and rehearse through visualization and affirmation what the future is going to be).

Thanks for the advice and support, everyone!

Actually, the school with over 10K is a regular university with a wide range of majors. There are some other schools I'm interested in which are significantly larger and/or in major cities. But it's not clear I can afford them. It's a Catch-22 - if demand in your industry is down, there's less money to go to school for something else. Also, it would take longer to get the same degree. At least there are several other universities within an hour's drive.

Good point about girls just being a mirror of oneself. I don't have any psychological reservations about my own age or any other part of my identity. I'm perfectly comfortable with a younger crowd - not just for pulling but also for becoming friends when we have something in common. Instead, I'm strategically trying to avoid getting a reputation as that older guy who hits on all the 20-year-olds.

It seems that a lot of HB's nowadays don't care about age. Generation Y seems to reject a lot of the silly social rules which older generations subscribe to. Do you think at least half of university HB's are open-minded about being with another student who is somewhat older but who they can still relate to?

These two statements sound contradictory.. They'll be open-minded to who steps to them congruently, and that's usually the trait of someone who doesn't care what anyone else thinks.
